Hosted at the The Milk Bar Parkmore (George Lea Park (Sandton Sports Club) on March 27th, the event was made possible by our main sponsor Santam, co-sponsors Bryte Insurance and Swiss Re Corporate Solutions, and complementary sponsors, CoxYeats, Envirosure Underwriting Managers and Qsure.
The highlight of the day was a captivating speech by Rich Mulholland, an expert in persuasive communication, an ex-roadie for iconic bands like Iron Maiden and Def Leppard, and the founder of persuasion powerhouse Missing Link.
He is also the author of the books: Legacide, Boredom Slayer, Here Be Dragons and Relentless Relevance.
Relevance in an ever-changing world
Rich’s talk centred around the importance of maintaining relevance in an ever-changing world. As he emphasised, relevance is not something that can be taken for granted – it’s a constant pursuit that requires consistent reflection and adaptation. It is not just about keeping up with trends, but about continuously questioning and adjusting to the changing landscape.
After giving a few examples, Rich subtly encouraged everyone to ask themselves how they will keep themselves relevant today? This simple but profound prompt challenges us all, no matter where we are in our lives, to continue evolving, learning, and leading with purpose in a fast-changing world.
A charitable cause
As customary, members were asked to bring along R100 for the nominated charity, The Murphy Cat Project. Members also brought along dog and cat food, blankets and toys.
We would like to thank each one of you for your donations.

A big thank you to Global Choices for generously sponsoring the beautiful flower arrangements at the GWII event, adding a lovely touch to the décor.
Thank you, Rich, for inspiring us. Your message of relentless relevance is a powerful reminder for all of us in the insurance industry. As we move forward, let’s embrace change, leverage our wisdom, and continually ask ourselves: how will we stay relevant today? By doing so, we’ll continue to lead and make a lasting impact in our field.
And to all the incredible women who joined us, thank you for being part of this event. We hope you leave feeling empowered and ready to stay relevant in an ever-changing world, as Oprah Winfrey wisely said, “The key to success is to focus on goals, not obstacles.”
