A magical Indian summer night
The event, hosted at The Higher Ground, was filled with vibrant colours to give the venue a magical Indian summer’s night feel.
Dressed for the theme, the women let their imagination run wild with bangles and dangling earrings, to fabrics and designs that were intricate and exotic.
With their Bollywood-inspired outfits, the ladies were in for unforgettable fun, where music and dance took centre stage.
Music, dance and art
Since Bollywood is famous for its music and dance, the ladies learned to incorporate head, neck, body and footwork movements with a team of experienced dance instructors. It was something different, with a whole new vibe.
For the more artistic and daring guests, there was Henna painting – the tattoo and body art – recognisable for its intricate and beautiful designs.
In true Bollywood style, the cocktail welcome drink, sponsored by Leppard, had the ladies asking for another. Sexy salsa dancers, sponsored by Invuya Institute of Learning, then brought the life and soul to the party. While they were at it, the ladies then headed on over to the gin bar, sponsored by Lombard.
A reflection of 2023
Welcoming members, GWII President, Shaazia Khan, then opened up the formalities with a reflection on the year that was. Khan then went on to highlight some of the inspiring and significant events of 2023.
She then introduced Catherine Albertyn as the new President of the GWII for 2024, with Kyndra Robertson as Deputy President.
Off to do some networking, with a 360-selfie photo booth, sponsored by Genasys, the ladies then snapped away and captured the fun, while listening to lively music.
They also continued to capture the evenings celebrations with the normal photo booth, sponsored by F&I Insure and F&I Re.
